What to Expect

Have you visited the best beaches in North America?   The gulf coast has some of the most beautiful shoreline in the world.  This trip will see you soaking up the sun and sand with your family, as we caravan around the Gulf of Mexico. Experience the very best from Florida to Louisiana during this winter break trip.   From the beautiful white sand beaches in Florida and Alabama, to the rich culture of Louisiana, and unmatched experiences in between.  Big beaches and small beaches with a pinch of southern hospitality. 

This trip will leave from the Tampa Florida area and travel along the Gulf of Mexico.  Our tours are done Caravan style, with all RV’s traveling together to a pre-arranged destination.  Relax and enjoy the trip, lead by our experienced RV Guide Families.   Their knowledge includes the best sights, hikes, and beaches with a family twist.  They are also ready to lend a helpful hand with your RV, as you setup at each campground. 

This tour may be taken with your own RV or with a rental RV.  If you already own an RV, then please bring it along for the journey.  However, if you don’t already own an RV, then you may rent one to use on this tour.  We have an exclusive partnership with a fleet of Class C recreational vehicles you may rent.  These RV’s are the perfect size to drive, park, and enjoy our tours.  They are available in 23 and 28 foot lengths, to fit different size families, and are fully contained: Sleeping 6, enclosed bathroom with shower, kitchen with refrigerator, air conditioning and heater, and V8 engine.  They are pre-delivered directly to your first campground, equipped with all the necessary items to immediately launch down the road: This includes: bedding, towels, cooking, silverware, and more.  Unpack your bags and start enjoying the tour. Upon tour completion, you simply check out of the RV at our last campground and everything else will be handled for you.  It’s not the only choice of RVs, but many of our guests prefer its simplicity.  After you book your tour, simply email us at to reserve your RV.


Day 1 Arrive in Tampa, Florida

We’ll meet Sunday afternoon near Tampa Florida for a light introduction and a late night swim at Clearwater Beach.  Clearwater Florida is the perfect place to get acquainted with other Caravan families over dinner together, then take a meandering evening walk through the dazzling oceanside town.  Clearwater Beach has a great playground, a huge pier for fishing, and an array of street magicians ready to amuse the whole family.  You will sleep in your RV near Tampa Florida in a campground(1 nights). No bus. Walking: light.

Day 2Cedar Key Beach

After a light breakfast we caravan 2 hours north towards Florida’s second oldest town; Cedar Key. A charming little town of only 1,000 residents, holds several beautiful sand beaches. Pick your beach and explore! Picnic, Swim or just relax and enjoy the breezes and sunshine at the city Beach and Park. There is also a decent city swimming and sunbathing beach adjacent to the city park that has picnic tables, a playground area, a pavilion, and a bath house. Several historical sites are within reach at Cedar Key, to expand your horizon, then relax a bit while watching the sunset. Gather in the evening with other Caravan families, to share stories of the day’s adventures and excitement for the next day’s travels. You will sleep in your RV at Cedar Key Florida in a campground (1 nights). No bus. Walking: Moderate

Day 3St. George Island

Our mid-morning caravan takes us on a scenic drive through the National Forests and Natural Wildlife reserves in Florida.  We will travel 3.5 hours from Cedar Key to Apalachicola Bay, where we can visit several beaches.  St. George Island State Park is not to be missed.  Or take a ferry to remote Dog Island, if you want beaches all to yourself.  Take a stroll through the small town of Apalachicola. Enjoy a charter fishing excursion from Port St. Joe. You’ll have free time to wander back before dinner together with other Caravan families. Sleep near Port St. Joe in your RV. (1 night). No bus. Walking: light.

Day 4Destin, Pensacola, and Navarre

An unforgettable trip to beaches from Destin to Navarre is the true highlight of a Gulf Coast visit.   We have a  As one of the most photographed beaches in the world, the white sand beaches of Destin will leave a lasting memory on your entire family.  Only25 hours drive from Apalachicola bay, today’s journey allows for several stops in Panama City, Destin, Pensacola, and Navarre.   You won’t be able to put down your camera, as we drive along the beautiful hwy 98 on Florida’s barrier island. Don’t miss sunset on any of these beaches, as it will be the talking point of your week.  Gather back in the evening with other Caravan families, to share the day’s adventures and learn about the next day’s travels. You will sleep in your RV in a campground (1 nights). No bus. Walking: Moderate


Day 5Gulf Shores Alabama

We finally leave Florida on our 4 state adventure.  Today we head into Alabama, on a 2 hour drive, to tour it’s most scenic oceanfront town: Gulf Shores.  Enjoy a leisure day. You may be tempted to pack a picnic lunch, but don’t miss some of the best food on the coast. Gulf Shores is a resort community known for bright white beaches and soothing warm water. Activities include scenic cruises, dolphin-watching and hiking. Gulf shores is a great place for families, featuring The Track, a family recreation center with bumper boats, and also the Alabama Gulf Coast Zoo.  Dinner and entertainment with the caravan, before sleeping at campground in your RV. No bus. Walking: light to moderate.

Day 6Ocean Springs Mississippi

After a light breakfast we caravan 2 hours west towards the third state on our tour: Mississippi.
Our destination is Gulfport, but along the way we visit Ocean Springs Beach. The best beach in Mississippi and one of the best on the entire Gulf Coast. Explore the charm of Mississippi, soak up the sun and enjoy the food. Gulfport is home to a 7mile man-made white sand beach and the annual “Worlds Largest Fishing Rodeo”. Mississippi beaches embody a calm and tranquil environment and offers plenty of opportunities for activities, such as flying kites, catching waves, sunbathing, taking relaxing strolls, and watching sunsets and sunrises. The Mississippi Aquarium and Jones Park are two popular attractions.
Enjoy the camaraderie of the other Caravan families over dinner, and prepare for the next day’s adventures. You will sleep in your RV at Gulfport Mississippi in an RV Resort(1 night). No bus. Walking: light to moderate

Day 7New Orleans and Grand Isle Louisiana

We’ll meet Saturday morning early for a light breakfast, then head towards Louisiana.  The last day of our tour won’t have you shedding tears, as there is more adventuring to do.  A short 1.2 hour drive will bring us into New Orleans, were we will setup camp. As we say goodbye, you leave with a “choose your own adventure” suggestion, depending upon your departure needs.  Do you explore the Tide pools at Shell Beach only 25 minutes drive or do you have time to drive through the Bayou to the remote beach oasis at Grand Isle a 1.2 hour drive from New Orleans.
